Tribunal Issues Subpoena On the complaints of INEC Chairman Over Atiku, PDP

The Chairman, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu and the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Zamfara State have been instructed by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT). They are anticipated to appear and generate some papers used for the last election by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, who are petitioners before the tribunal, by the subpoena given on July 9, 2019.
When the proceedings were resumed on Wednesday, the petitioner's lawyer, Chris Uche (SAN), told the tribunal that the summons had been served on both officials, but they failed To either appear or render the required documents accessible.
He said the summons are like summons from a tribunal that the topic must obey.
Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Mohammed Garba observed that Yakubu was entrusted with the summons on July 15, 2019 when he was needed to generate the records from the court record.
Garba also observed that on July 12, the one on the Zamfara REC was served.
He asked INEC's attorney, Yunus Usman (SAN), to take the required measures to guarantee compliance with the subpoena.
